UN High-Level Meeting on HIV/AIDS
In accordance with General Assembly Resolution A/Res/80/256, the General Assembly will convene a high-level meeting on 22 and 23 June 2026, which will review progress on the 2025 targets and other commitments made in the 2021 Political Declaration, including successes, best practices, lessons learned, obstacles and gaps, challenges and opportunities, including with regard to partnership and cooperation, and recommendations to guide and monitor the HIV/AIDS response beyond 2025, including new concrete commitments to accelerate action to end the AIDS epidemic by 2030 as well as to promote the renewed commitment and engagement of leaders, countries, communities and partners to accelerate and implement a comprehensive universal and integrated response to HIV/AIDS. The thematic panels will address issues related to and incorporate elements from Sustaining the HIV Response, Building Resilient, Country-Led and Future-Ready Systems, Accelerating HIV Prevention and Care, Equity, Innovation and People-Centered Services and Community Leadership at the Center, Advancing Equity, Rights and Inclusive HIV Governance.
STAKEHOLDER PARTICIPATION
Civil society organizations that are not in consultative status with UN ECOSOC MUST REQUEST special accreditation to participate in the high-level meeting on HIV/AIDS on 22 and 23 June 2026. You can check if your organization has consultative status with ECOSOC here.

*This ad-hoc special accreditation applies at the organizational level, requiring only one application per entity. Individuals may not apply for special accreditation.
*Projects fiscally sponsored by parent entities may not apply for accreditation. The fiscal sponsor must apply with proof of its legal status. Only entities with their own legal status may apply for special accreditation.
*Organizations approved for participation will be informed and will receive additional instructions regarding the registration process for their representatives.
