As guided by General Assembly resolutions A/RES/79/333 the President of the General Assembly of the United Nations will convene a one-day high-level meeting on Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness and Response (PPPR) at United Nations Headquarters in New York on the second day of the general debate of the Assembly at its eighty-first session in September 2026.

The UN High-level meeting on Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness and Response (PPPR) presents an opportunity for Member States to further mobilize political momentum, including through the integration of a multisectoral approach towards pandemic prevention, preparedness and response, given the multifaceted consequences of pandemics.

In order to participate in the high-level event, the following categories of relevant organizations that are not in consultative status with ECOSOC must express interest here and must apply for special accreditation.
- Non-governmental organizations 
- Academic institutions
- Private sector
